About Chris Rogers
Assemblymember Chris Rogers was born and raised on California’s North Coast, where he’s spent his life working to make the region more livable, resilient, and equitable.
From the redwoods of Del Norte to the rolling hills of Sonoma County, Chris understands the challenges our rural and coastal communities face—and the opportunities that come when local voices are heard in Sacramento.
Chris started his career in public service as a legislative aide and senior staffer to State Senator Mike McGuire, helping deliver for North Coast communities across a wide range of issues—from education and housing to environmental protection and disaster recovery. In 2016, he was elected to the Santa Rosa City Council, where he led the city through devastating wildfires, a historic drought, and the COVID-19 pandemic. During his time in local government, he focused on delivering real solutions: expanding access to childcare, switching all city buildings to 100% renewable energy, protecting mobile home residents, launching a first-time homebuyers program, and creating a groundbreaking baby bonds initiative for low-income newborns.
