About JJ Galvez
A year ago, I had no idea I would be running for office. But I did know I wanted to step up and do something good, so I got involved.
I started volunteering to help canvass, write postcards, and talk to voters during elections. I got more involved in my local community and was appointed to the Silverado-Modjeska Recreation and Parks Board as Treasurer. I joined local clubs and started organizing community get-togethers.
As I got more involved, opportunities kept showing up, and I kept saying yes.
And then I found myself stepping forward to run for the 71st Assembly District in the California state legislature to bring a fresh perspective and represent my community.

JJ Galvez on Housing and Abundance
“Housing: Reduce the cost of construction materials (up 40% since 2020) with state-negotiated volume discounts, while giving developers incentives to build more affordable housing, and curbing speculation from private equity firms and foreign cash-based investors.”
“Building more affordable housing doesn’t have to mean destroying our remaining wildlands, causing transportation crises, or increasing fire dangers.”
“Transportation: Freeze gas tax increases, invest in practical public transportation, and bring more jobs to Riverside County to reduce commuting times.”
