About Marissa Roy
Marissa Roy is a lifelong Angeleno who has spent her career fighting for civil rights and consumer protection. Marissa’s decision to pursue a career in public service was inspired by seeing the power of law to fight for the people: when Prop 8 passed in 2008 and denied LGBTQ+ Californians the right to marry, including her younger brother, Marissa saw the San Francisco City Attorney's Office successfully lead the battle to overturn Prop 8 and restore marriage equality for thousands.
Since then, Marissa has dedicated her legal career to protecting working families, renters, immigrants, and all Californians, from her start with the City Attorney's office to her current role as a Deputy Attorney General.*
