Assemblymember Matt Haney proudly represents California’s 17th Assembly District encompassing the eastern side of San Francisco.
Haney serves as Chair of the Committee on Housing and Community Development and Chair of the Legislative Renters’ Caucus, where he is one of the few renters in the Legislature. He also chairs the Committee on Downtown Recovery and serves on the Committees on Natural Resources, Public Safety, Business and Professions, and Budget Subcommittee 5 on State Administration. He also serves as Chair of the California Legislative Irish Caucus, and Chair of the Select Committee on Fentanyl, Opioid Addiction, and Overdose Prevention. Previously, he held leadership roles as Assistant Majority Whip, and Assistant Majority Leader for Policy and Research.
