About Matt Johnson
Matt Johnson has been a resident of Dupont Circle since 2017 and he has lived in the Washington region since moving here from his native state of Georgia in 2007. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and works as a transportation planner and capital project manager, where his work focuses on improving safety for all roadway users. He has more than 15 years of experience working in local government. He holds a Master of Community Planning from the University of Maryland at College Park and a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
He and his boyfriend love to travel. Matt recently visited his 50th state. He is currently on a quest to visit each unit of the National Park System and has visited over half of America’s national parks. While seeing the majestic beauty of America’s landscapes is one of his hobbies, he is also a lover of cities and believes we must work to make them more livable and more affordable.
