Broadway Organizational Supporters Meeting / Happy Hour

Dear All, The City Council meeting currently in progress is running a few hours behind schedule, and it's looking unlikely that our Alders will be able to join us today. Staff from each office will be here to represent their Alderpeople, and we look forward to seeing you at 4pm today at the 48th Ward Office (1129 W Bryn Mawr). Martin would like to thank you for your partnership in supporting a sustainable, transit-oriented, pedestrian-friendly Broadway corridor. With your organization's support earlier this year, the Broadway Land Use Framework passed the Chicago Plan Commission by a vote of 12-1, and with your continued support, the Broadway zoning ordinances will pass through the Committee on Zoning, Landmarks, and Building Standards in October. As you know, implementing the Broadway Land Use Framework will open doors to building much-needed housing for all income levels with an emphasis on accessibility, transit, and affordability. The framework will allow our business corridors to thrive by supporting the success and expansion of existing businesses, and streamlining the establishment of new local businesses. The community overwhelmingly supports the framework, and we’re thrilled to be moving forward with the next step. As we approach the October Zoning Committee meeting, we would like to invite you, our organizational supporters, to an in-person meeting in the 48th Ward Office where we’ll provide an update on the status of the Broadway zoning ordinances and what it will take to get them passed. In addition, we would like to take this opportunity to build community and invite you all to join us for happy hour at Hamburger Mary’s after the meeting. We hope you can join us!
