Community Forum: Winning Local Ballot Initiatives
The Urbanist
Ballot initiatives are a powerful tool that communities can use to create the policies they need, and they are also resource intensive. Hear from grassroots groups who have won local ballot initiatives in recent years discuss their approach, strategy, challenges, and lessons learned. Panelists include House Our Neighbors (Seattle Social Housing initiatives), Seattle DSA (Renton minimum wage increase), Transit Riders Union (Tukwila and Burien minimum wage increase), and Washington CAN (Federal Way Eviction Reform).
