First ONY Book Club Meeting
Open New York
Join us at the ONY office for an engaging book club discussion of The Death and Life of Great American Cities by Jane Jacobs. Widely considered one of the most influential works on urban planning, Jacobs’ book challenged conventional thinking about city development and champions vibrant, community-centered neighborhoods. While the book has sometimes been painted as NIMBY-adjacent, Jacobs is a much more nuanced thinker, and there's a lot for the YIMBY movement to learn from her approach to place-making and neighborhood design. This will be a great bookend (pardon the pun) for those who joined the Power Broker book club last winter!
