About J.R. Fruen
J.R. Fruen is something rare in local politics: someone who has lived Cupertino's history, not just heard about it. His grandparents were among the city's earliest residents, purchasing a parcel of land in 1952 and moving in the year the house was built, two years before Cupertino was even incorporated. They got to vote on that incorporation. In the yard of that home stands a magnificent magnolia tree, its roots running as deep as the family's connection to this place. For J.R., that tree is a living reminder of what it means to belong somewhere, to steward it responsibly with a long term lens, and to leave it better than you found it.
